MADE BY MAYA
Founded by Maya Abrol in June 2018, Made By Maya began as a small, commission-based business. Using her extensive knowledge of both 2D and 3D art forms, Abrol collaborates closely with individual clients and groups within her local communities to perform several different tasks.
History
Primarily, Maya creates custom formal dresses, small college-themed paintings, and event/holiday decor. Starting in 2020, Made By Maya donated 50% of their profits to the Innocence Project in support of the prevention of wrongful conviction across the United States. Recently, Made By Maya began donating 25% of their profits to Choose Mental Health, in addition to 25% to the Innocence Project. This change was made in light of seeing the dire cost of mental health struggles in Abrol's university environment.

Combining her personal love for fashion design, as well as her passion for criminal justice advocacy and women's rights, Maya volunteered time in 2023 at her local rape crisis center, empowering the women there to find their own creative outlets through fashion. In addition to this collaboration, Maya donated many of her up-cycled projects, as well as organized a clothing drive to support their design endeavors sustainably. In culmination, Made By Maya played a large role in facilitating a fully up-cycled fashion show, equipping these women with the tools to emotionally overcome the unimaginable challenges they continue to face.
